The last Autumn Meeting ever (?) took place in Leeds 8 – 10 October 2014. The Meeting included a Council Meeting with representatives from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and Spain. Leeds Beckett University was the perfect host with Val Finnigan as the perfect individual organiser – a million thanks to everybody involved! A visit to the Civic Hall and a nice welcome by the Lord Mayor of Leeds gave the participants a nice experience and new knowledge about the city of Leeds. On Wednesday also the Committee Meetings, Board Meeting and Council Meeting took place. Minutes from the Council Meeting will be found on Chamilo. Everybody present was naturally very interested in the elections which are to be carried out at the next AGM. A newsletter with further information on this topic will be sent out by the end of October. The Thursday Meeting was opened by Mr Damien Ward, Associate Dean for Strategic Development and his colleague, Joanna Smith, and also with an emotional speech given by Danute Rasimaviciene, President of SPACE. The participants were transported from Rose Bowl in the City Centre to the Headingley Campus where also the Dinner was taking place in the evening. The opening of the dinner was extraordinary and surprising: A small, wonderful choir was singing and finally bringing us all to mingle and sing with them. During the day we had work to do: Board Meeting, Committee Meetings, a Forum for everybody, and interesting presentations on the projects: Bioinno, EWC, PhExcel, 3M, Digas and Infinitus – given by Regitze Kristensen, Luc Broes, Annemie van den Dries and Mercedes Aznar. On Friday we had all Committees reporting on their work – as always lots of good and new ideas. The Action Plans will be seen on Chamilo. We also had a Project Planning Session and the results from the groups’ results will be found on Chamilo. The President closed the meeting after a nice lunch, thanking for everybody’s commitment and wishing us all a nice trip home.
